A man named Eric Draven returns home from the store to find a group of men in his house assaulting and raping his fiancee. They do not heisitate to kill him after two steps in door.

A year after his death he returns from the grave in pain, mentally and physically. As he returns to the only place he called home he find a bird to be guiding him almost psychically.

He returns to him home suddenly flooded with images in his head of his love in pain. Gunshots ringing in his ears, and the sound of broken glass as he remembers a three story fall to hard, unforgiving cement.

He knows now why he is back, both through the bird and his own visions. He's back for retribution, revenge against those who have destroyed anyting and everthing he ever held dear in his previous life.

With that he sets out on a rampage of hate combusted rage with the only thing he can now call a friend...
